Crockpot Hot Chocolate

Ok, I’ve seen these posts all over Pinterest and I finally decided to give it a try on New Year’s Eve. Except that I’ve been spoiled by the peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks so that’s the flavor I was going for. I also don’t like my hot chocolate runny. I like it kinda thick, so here’s what I did.

  • 1/2 gallon milk
  • 1 quart (32 oz) heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can (16 oz) sweet & condensed milk
  • 1 bag (10 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag (10 oz) milk chocolate chips*

NOTE: I used Andes baking chips because I wanted peppermint flavor

Add all items to Crockpot. Cook on high stirring frequently. Once all chocolate has dissolved, ladle into mugs and top with a few marshmallows.

For Instant Pot, turn on Sautee setting and stir constantly for 5 minutes then set to Keep Warm until ready to serve.

The result? Amazing! Oh my goodness. It was so creamy and minty and just plain ole delicious. Plus, it was SUPER easy. Crockpot for the win, again!

With January’s bitter temperatures on the brink, I will definitely be making this again. Soon! Like, tonight.
