BFF Gardening Method
Before we even signed the contract on our home, I had my spot picked out for the garden. However, there was a slight problem: Rocks! Our problem has big boulder rocks. This is typically a no-go when it comes to gardening through traditional tilling methods.
However, I had just recently learned about the Back to Eden gardening method. Turns out I was already doing something similar in my Little Redneck Garden but this documentary filled in the gaps and helped me to understand why it worked so well. I’d encourage everyone to watch this film (it’s currently free)!
I skipped the first gardening season because I was prepping the area with cardboard, wood chips, and compost. We still need to get the fence up.
This year I planted green beans, corn, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, basil, eggplant, watermelon, and pumpkin. My onion and carrot seeds didn’t germinate so I’m guessing they were old or got moisture to them somehow. Otherwise, the garden did pretty well this year.
I’ve been helping my uncle with his garden down in Alabama and he’s taught me a few new things that I’m excited to implement for next year. Gardening brings me such joy and I’m excited to have enough room to plant as much as need with room to grow.
