June 2024 Family Update
Skylar kicked off the month with an incredible opportunity to attend a week-long aviation camp through the Sattler Foundation. They visited several different airports and locations around Middle TN and experienced everything from ground operations to simulators and even actual flight time. She made some great connections and I’m excited to see what’s next for her.
I went on my 2nd Summer Solstice car camping adventure with my cousin Angie and her friend Terri. Last summer was my first time thanks to these ladies and I enjoyed it so much that they agreed to go with me again. This year we went to Edgar Evins State Park and took a kayaking adventure to the foot of Burgess Falls. It was incredible! My physical body and mindset are night-and-day different from a year ago. In 2023 I showed up mentally and emotionally drained and every inch of my body hurt. This year I arrived 45 pounds lighter, immensely stronger, and genuinely happy. Oh the difference a year can make!
The puppies birthays both fall in June. I can’t belive that Onyx is now SEVEN. Time warped on me because I feel like she was just having this litter of puppies but Ace just turned FIVE!
Skylar has been working on moving forward with her Eagle Project which is her last step. She has secured a beneficiary and her project idea has been signed off. Next up, fundraising. She also had the opportunity to go to Bonaroo this month and see some of her favorite bands including Chappell Roan.
Stay tuned for July. I’m headed to Bama for our annual trip and then we leave later in the month to go to the Olympics!!!
