Summer Fun Schedule
May 23, 2011
summer 2010 at the lake
I am counting down until school is out and we are just a mere week and a half away. 2010 was the first summer in a loooong time where it actually felt like summer mainly because I love the age that Skylar is at now. She’s old enough that we can go and do things that are fun for both her AND me. Yay! So, here’s our line up for summer 2011 from start to finish.
- Camping – Memorial Day Weekend. School should have been out but snow days have us going an extra week. Oh well. It never hurts to get a head start. 🙂
- “School’s Out For Summer” trip to Chattanooga – Creative Museum & Rock City Gardens
- Lake EVERY Friday – parking pass has been purchased!
- Gymnastics – We’re gonna try it out for the summer and see how she likes it.
- Train ride downtown to get ice cream and meet Daddy after work.
- Library – Can’t wait to see what the prizes are for summer reading.
- Drive-In Movie – Cars 2
- Super Summer Bible School at TDF
- Week in Alabama with the Grandparents – Don’t spoil her too much, k?
- Regal $1 Summer Movies
- Wave Country – Gonna use our BOGO coupon from the Enjoy the City book.
- Art Classes – Private classes for Skylar & her buddy Rocco.
- Nashville Shores – I’m still trying to find a deal on tickets but we hope to do this with Mike one weekend.
- Point Mallard Waterpark – We did this last year with K-Diddy & MiMi and thought it should be an annual event to mark the weekend before school starts back.
- Panama City Beach – This is the annual Labor Day trip with Yah Yah & Paw Paw. I ♥ the beach!
- Tennessee State Fair – I really hope this comes back this year because this is how I mark the end of summer.
Those are just the “out and about” things on our list. Of course we have the sprinkler, slip & slide, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a plethora of other things we plan to do at home. I’m also going to try to work with her on some sight words and other (hopefully fun) educational activities, plus she has Awana each week to work on scripture memorization. I’d like to do a sewing project together and some other practical life things as well.
I’d say that ought to keep us busy for the next 3 months, don’t you? The trick, of course, will be trying to get my work done and still making time for all that fun. We do have her attending ECP 3 days a week so hopefully that will help. I can’t wait to make some awesome memories this summer! Let the countdown begin. 10, 9……….

Sounds like a super fun summer ya got planned there!! What's ECP??
Staci
ECP (Early Childhood Program) is her old preschool. Kinda like a Mother's Day Out program (9a – 2:30p). It's at Donelson Heights United Methodist. We loved it there. They are so great and very open to "natural" parenting choices.
Bona Fide Mama
We are in Murfreesboro! Hoping to catch Cars 2 at the Drive in too. And thanks for the link to the dollar movies. I want to get one on my calendar for sure!
