December 2019 Update

I have a serious love-hate relationship with December. There are so many fun things to do. The problem is that there are So. Many. Things. To Do. They all get crammed in together with hardly any time to enjoy them individually. These are just a few of the highlights…

My birthday is thrown into the mix too, which usually means it isn’t really celebrated. Since I was turning 40 this year I wanted to do something special, so we booked a room at Opryland and spent the day at SoundWaves, the new indoor waterpark. It was SO much fun! Full review coming soon.

Closer to Christmas we did our usual traditions, which includes a Harry Potter movie marathon and spending a day celebrating Christmas with Mike’s family. The BFF also had special guests for the holidays. Our friends, the Drose’s stayed overnight as they were passing through from TX to NC and our beloved Ben woke up with us on Christmas morning. Both were last-minute additions to the calendar, but they were also two of the things that made me happiest. Being with people you love and care about is where it’s at! Although, getting my very first French Press wasn’t too bad either. 😉

Skylar spent the final weekend of the year doing what she loves best, camping! Winter camp was SO WET this year. They even had to abandon camp one night due to flooding but it just made for more memories. As usual, she came home and slept all day on New Year’s Eve. She did get up just in time for us to head over to our friend’s house to ring in the new year with board games and sparkling grape juice.
